Our Simple 3-Step Appraisal Process

Step 1: Get in Touch

The best way to start is to contact me via phone, text, or email. Sending photos of your collection at this stage is highly recommended as it helps me understand the size and scope of what you have.

Important Tip: If you have a lot of coins, please don’t photograph each one individually. A few overview snapshots that show the size and general variety are perfect!

Step 2: Quick Review

Once you’ve sent the info from the first step, I will review your photos and get back to you promptly. We can then have a conversation about what you have. I’ll let you know if your items warrant a closer, in-person evaluation and we can schedule a time and place to meet.

Step 3: The Appraisal

During your appointment, I will examine your collection more closely. I will explain the factors that determine value—such as condition, rarity, and metal content. Once complete, I will present you with a no-obligation offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kinds of items do you appraise?

A: We are interested in a wide variety of items. If you’re unsure, it’s always best to ask! This includes:
• United States Coins (gold, silver, pennies, etc.)
• World Coins
• Gold & Silver Bullion (Eagles, Maple Leafs, bars, etc.)
• Paper Currency (U.S. and foreign)
• Scrap Gold & Silver Jewelry
• Official Proof Sets & Mint Sets
• Tokens & Medals

Q: How do you determine a coin’s value?

A: Value is based on four key factors:
1. Condition (Grade): A coin’s state of preservation. An uncirculated coin is worth more than a heavily worn one.
2. Rarity: How many were made and how many are still around for collectors.
3. Metal Content: The intrinsic value of the gold or silver in the coin.
4. Collector Demand: The current popularity of a specific coin among collectors.

Q: Do I need to sort my collection or take coins out of their holders?

A: No to both. You don’t need to spend hours organizing everything; I can quickly assess a mixed collection. And please, leave coins in their original albums, flips, or cases. This helps protect them, and sometimes the holders themselves contain important information.
