Coin Dealer Serving Overland Park & Kansas City
JoCo Coin Shop buys and sells U.S. and world coins, paper money, and gold and silver across Johnson County and the Kansas City metro. Whether you have a collection to sell or you’re looking for a coin to add to yours, the first step is a call, text, or email.
I work by appointment instead of from a walk-in storefront. That means you get my full attention, and we meet at a set time and place that works for both of us.
Selling Coins in the Kansas City Area
If you inherited a collection, found an old coin jar, or are ready to sell coins you’ve collected for years, here’s how it works:
- Get in touch. Call, text, or email a few overview photos. No need to photograph every coin.
- Quick review. I’ll look over your photos, get back to you promptly, and let you know if your items call for a closer look.
- Meet in person. We set a time and place, I examine everything, explain what drives the value, and give you a no-obligation offer.
More detail on each step is on the appraisals page. Not in the area? See how mail-in appraisals work.
What I buy
- United States coins: gold, silver, pennies, nickels, and everything in between
- World coins
- Gold and silver bullion (Eagles, Maple Leafs, rounds, and bars)
- Paper money, U.S. and foreign
- Scrap gold and silver jewelry
- Proof sets and mint sets
- Tokens and medals
Not sure if something qualifies? Ask. And please don’t clean your coins first. Cleaning almost always lowers their value.
Buying Coins
I sell coins too, and I ship orders nearly every day. You can browse what’s available in my eBay store. If you see something you like, or you’re looking for something specific, call or text me and you can buy directly. Gold and silver prices change daily, so call or text for today’s price.
Areas I Serve
I’m based in Overland Park and work with customers across the entire Kansas City metro and the surrounding area, on both the Kansas and Missouri sides.
Kansas: Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee, Leawood, Prairie Village, Mission, Merriam, Gardner, Spring Hill, De Soto, Bonner Springs, Kansas City, Leavenworth, Lawrence, and Paola.
Missouri: Kansas City, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown, Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Liberty, Gladstone, North Kansas City, Parkville, Platte City, and Harrisonville.
Don’t see your town? If you’re within driving distance of Kansas City, just ask. Farther away, mail-in appraisals work anywhere in the U.S.

A: No. Every offer is no-obligation. Many people just want to know what they have.
